About Mrs. Turner
I grew up in Woodbury, Minnesota and lived in the same house and went to school in the same school district from 1st-12th grade! I always loved school! I was a Girl Scout, played basketball, participated in the Spanish Club, and in drama. I grew up watching NFL Football with my dad every Sunday - Go Vikings!
After graduating from high school, I went to college at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. I received a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. I then moved to San Francisco, California, where I worked for 6 months, and then moved to Honolulu, Hawaii. I attended the University of Hawaii - Manoa and was awarded a Masters Degree in Education with an emphasis in School Counseling. I worked for 6 months as an elementary school counselor at Hokulani Elementary in Hawaii.
I then moved back to the mainland - Georgia bound! I worked for Cobb County Schools for a year before landing at my home in Fulton County. I started as an elementary school counselor in 1998 at New Prospect Elementary. I also worked at Ocee and Cogburn Woods Elementary as a counselor. In 2011 I went to work in the District Office of Fulton County Schools where I was the Program Administrator for Elementary School Counselors, SST/RTI, and Section 504. I worked in that position for 3 years. While I loved the work I was doing for all Fulton County students and staff, I missed being in a school community. It was then that I joined the State Bridge Crossing family in 2014. Then, after almost 20 years in elementary school, I joined Autrey Mill Middle School.
I have an amazing family. My husband Is an amazing chef. We enjoy finding cool places to eat, and we love to travel. Our son Davis is a Police Officer. Our daughter Lindsey is a senior. We have three dogs - Gabby is a Chihuahua, Echo is an Old English Bulldog, and Cooper is a Mastiff.
I enjoy cycling, concerts, and all sports. I love to be outside, especially at the beach! And I do not miss a Vikings game.
